The story of Twine & Co.

I’ve always loved dogs. When I was little, we had a dog called Toby, and he was a huge part of my childhood. I always knew that when I had a family, I wanted my child to experience that same sense of companionship. And when my son came along, that feeling only grew stronger.

That’s how Luna came into our lives. She’s a Chiweenie, part Dachshund and part Chihuahua, full of character, attitude, and so much affection. From day one, she’s been part of everything we do.

When I started buying the things we needed for her, especially for walks, I realised how limited the options were. Everything was either practical but not something you’d want to wear, or cute and trendy but not useful or well-made. There was no middle ground.

One thing that kept frustrating me was the waste bag dispenser. Most bags only give you one fixed place for it, which means you’re forced to wear the bag a certain way. That’s not ideal when you swap shoulders or you’re trying to manage a dog and a child at the same time. And honestly, I didn’t like having the dispenser always on show. I didn’t want to meet a friend for coffee with waste bags poking out of the side of my bag.

I also found myself switching between different bags depending on where I was going. A walk, the school run, errands, or meeting someone. I just wanted one bag that could do all of it without feeling too “dog walk specific.”

So I started sketching. Nothing fancy, just me trying to map out what I wished existed. At first, it was just an idea on paper, but the more I worked on it, the more I realised I genuinely wanted to create the thing I couldn’t find anywhere. I wanted to use it myself, so I decided to take the jump and start having proper conversations with manufacturers. After a lot of back and forth, I ended up with a design that made sense for real life. Something you can use on a dog walk, but also carry throughout the rest of your day. Simple, practical, and still nice to look at.

I’m genuinely proud of how it’s developed. I haven’t seen anything quite like it, and I honestly believe it fits the needs of people who think the same way I do. People who want something that works but also looks and feels good.

That’s how Twine & Co. began. From small, everyday frustrations and the hope of making something better. As things progress, more pieces will join the collection, so if you’d like updates or want to follow along, we’d love to have you with us.

This is only the start, and I’m glad you’re here.
